Looking for a dress that will take you from the office to the bar this evening? Let us introduce you to the Cameo Rose Black Contrast Collar Skater Dress. Which puts an edgier spin on the sophisticated skater dress. Wear with pumps in the day and change into heels for the evening, time to dance this little number round the dance floor!
We have got to say, we were delighted to see our very favourite fashion designer, Victoria Beckham topping the list of the 100 established British businessmen and women.
The mother-of-four has been named as the country’s number one most successful entrepreneur by business magazine, Management Today.
With a personal wealth estimated at £210 million, which outstrips VB’s husband David Beckham’s bank balance by a cool £45 million, it’s safe to say… We now know who wears the trousers in this relationship.
At the opening of her first store Victoria said “The public have been with me on this journey from the start and continue to be. Five years ago I certainly never thought I’d be opening my own store.”
We bet she didn’t think she’d be the UK’s most successful entrepreneur either!
In honour of the recent appearance of some sunshine, there hardly seems a more appropriate pastel shade to be buying than beautiful shades of pale yellow. This colour is really having a moment, which is proven by the fact it was doubly hard to pick our favourite pieces as a result of so many labels having so many stunning items on offer.
Clearly it’s going to be a big feature this spring/summer so we strongly recommend adding a touch of it to your wardrobes. Celebrity wise, it’s a shade popping up all over the place, from red carpet gowns to out and about daywear, everyone with a sense of style is sporting something pastel yellow! There was the Kate Middleton moment when wore the cute yellow day dress – of course press went wild watching her try to navigate gusts of wind in such a light and floaty frock (poor woman!) – which followed the standard pattern of selling out in seconds after people got a glance of how good she looked in it.
From our selection below, there’s quite a few ‘inspiration pieces’, meaning they’re slightly on the expensive side, but I think they provide plenty of ideas for the hottest shapes and shades this season. The Kenzo blouse, Chloe shift dress, and Sister by Sibling slogan jumper, are all on my dream list of spring/summer fashion. Pale yellow jeans or trousers are a major feature of the streetstyle looks we’ve been spotting, so I recommend trading your more staple white skinnies for a pair this year.
While Chanel is known for its evolving classics and constant innovation, the fashion house has been super busy of late and has chalked up a trio of obsessions for us in the past week alone!
1) Those photos of Victoria Beckham at Chanel’s spiritual home, 31 Rue Cambon. Just how incredible does she look? VB joins Karl Lagerfeld for a super glam photo shoot for Elle France. Interestingly VB only wears Chanel jewellery, teamed with a Lanvin sweater, Eres undies and Giuseppe Zanotti Design skyscraper heels. Pas de pearls! She also wears a white Fendi shirt, Sergio Rossi stilettos and a skirt from her own collection to pose alone.
2) From Paris to Scotland, a secret location near Edinburgh will host Chanel’s always-fabulous Métiers d’Art show this December – let’s hope Karl et al wrap up warm! It’s amazing to think that the first Métiers d’Arts catwalk show only took place 9 years ago but since then it’s a key part of the annual fashion calendar and enables Chanel to show off the extravagant work of its 10 highly skilled artisan manufacturers. One might suppose that the show will have a Scottish theme (Karl does love a kilt) and Chanel has even safeguarded 200 jobs at Barrie Knitwear, which it has just acquired.
3) And a final note to say that if you live anywhere near Chelsea in London you HAVE to go to the Little Black Jacket exhibition. We ventured to the Saatchi Gallery on Sunday morning and had a wonderful time browsing the huge selection of stylish portraits and lusting after the world’s most versatile jacket. P.S. the gift shop is totally amazing for Christmas presents!
We’ve lost count of the times that we’ve been told that skinny jeans are due to be replaced by flares/wide trousers/anything else, but maybe that will be about to change for real as trend setter Victoria Beckham has been spotted out and about in indigo wash flares. I love her glam-meets-casual look and am a sucker for the seventies, especially having gone gaga for Hedi Slimane’s Saint Laurent collection at PFW- so I’m sold! Who’s jumping on the flared bandwagon with me?
VB had declared that she woudn’t be seen dead in public in a tracksuit, but the polished designer has been papped in just that…and trainers instead of her famed stilettos. Working the sports luxe trend hard, we salute you Victoria. (Has Posh turned Sporty?!)
Our nerves are slightly frayed watching the Wimbledon final, so we are pleased that we can be distracted by the occasional glimpse of well-dressed guests. Blow-out hair is THE trend at Centre Court with Andy Murray’s gf Kim Sears and the Middleton sisters sporting tastefull tresses, but I am loving the Posh and Becks show…and VB is wearing her own fashion line…game, set, natch.
