leather trousers

There is a temptation in the summer sales to go totally tropical (especially this year) and buy everything for this season…and we couldn’t resist a couple of picks, after all we haven’t had much sun in the UK yet, but there is also a chance to snap up some essential pieces ready for AW13…and save some pennies.

Here are our five favourite buys from the ASOS sale, which combine some impulsive buys with a little forward plannning.

Fun and flirty for summer, we adore these Hail leather wedges £47 from £95
Pyjama trouers are set to last and we like this jacket with subtle tile print £35 to £19
Just in time for The Great Gatsby cinematic spectacular – House of Harlow 1960 gold and black zig zag starburst ring £88 to £44
Leather is EVERYWHERE next season so invest now. Vila leather trous £150 to £95
Splurge! Surface to Air maxi coat £520 to £298

It’s been quite a week for Miranda Kerr – modelling for Chanel with bejewelled eyebrows at Paris Fashion Week and of course selling iced tea. But she has got our vote as the most stylish model-off-duty in Paris after rocking two tricky leather looks with aplomb. (Yeah I know we’ve gone crazy for her efforts before!)

I am particularly smitten with her leather trousers matched with luxe casual cardis and silk shirts and the beautiful burgundy Chloe bag. Go Miranda!

Love this look!
My favourite outfit with a bag to die for!

M&S has been trying in recent years to become a fashion destination for younger women who might pick up some clothes (not just underwear and yummy ready meals). And this A/W 11 collection certainly includes some bold designs and slick catwalk-style tailoring. We’re so pleasantly surprised and here are our fav picks.

LOVE this super slick coat- little bit Jil Sander? – and perfect with leather leggings and Bordeaux tote.  This A/W is defintely going to be wine-y in colour.

So this Autumn glam-rock stylee faux fur coats are going to be big (see Topshop for a bright pink offering) and M&S have opted for Cookie-Monster blue. While the super furry coat might be a little much for most M&S customers, we love the cute blouse and leather pencil skirt to give work wear some va va voom.

Oh how we want this chic shift – Sequins (check), Missoni-style palette (check) velvet (check) and a touch of sheer sexiness (check) How can one dress tick any more style boxes?!

Such a cool and cosy look. Subtle palazzo pants (just the right amount of 70s?) teamed with a chunky belted knit and tailored blazer = almost perfect wintery ensemble.

The block colour shift is a style staple this Autumn and leather sleeves/details are huge too, so God bless M&S for combining the two. Catwalk style for the office that will even keep arms warm in the air conditioning…WIN!
