It’s almost time for one of our favourite nights of the year! That’s right, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is right around the corner. After much speculation, VS recently announced the models that made the cut for the coveted spots in the show.

The show will feature Victoria’s Secret Angels Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio, who will both be model the Fantasy Bra. Other Angels include Behati Prinsloo (aka Mrs. Adam Levine), Karlie Kloss, and Lily Aldridge.

Models for the show include Elsa Hosk, Daniela Graga, and the UK’s very own Jourdan Dunn.

If you were lucky enough to snag tickets to the show, which is being held at London’s Earls Court on December 2nd, we are very jealous of you! If you aren’t able to attend, the show will be broadcasted on TV at a later date, so be on the lookout!

Shoppers, get ready! World-renowned supermodel Naomi Campbell is opening a pop-up shop at Westfield London. The shop will be selling clothes donated by Naomi herself, as well as many of her friends and favourite designers.

According to Vogue’s website, the shop will aim to raise awareness about Ebola as part of her Fashion for Relief Campaign.

Westfield’s director of marketing for the UK, Myf Ryan said, “In 2011, Westfield London hosted the first Fashion for Relief Pop up store which raised over £20,000 in one week. This year, the store will be bigger and better with hundreds of designer pieces on sale. We have no doubt it will be a brilliant success.”

The shop will only be open from November 28 to December 4, so be sure to check it out while you can!

Once again, internationally famous (and fabulous!) supermodel Kate Moss will be featured on the cover of Vogue. The December issue of the magazine will have two different covers with the lovely Kate appearing on both. According to Vogue, the two covers show different sides of Kate- one being the glam model with Sixties-style makeup, while the other shows a more natural side with minimal makeup.

The magazine, which Kate partially edited, also features an article that gives insight into ‘Kate’s World.’ Vogue readers will be able to read about some of her favourite things, and see pictures of some of the men in her life!

We can’t wait to pick up a copy of the magazine and see a side of Kate we don’t often get to see!

Last week Snap Fashion were enough to meet the extremely talented designer, Mary Katrantzou.

Before meeting Mary, I would would have called her a fashion designer, but  listening to her talk I discovered that clothes are not the only thing she has in her vast design repertoire. She has created all sorts from lampshades to ballet costumes and is currently in the process of collaborating with Adidas to design trainers, so be sure to save your pennies as your feet will not want to miss out on these beauties!

Now for a whistle stop tour of her action packed life…

Mary Katrantzou was born in Athens in 1983 to an interior designer mother and a father who was a textile designer. So lets face it, design was her destiny. However, she has had an interesting time getting there, taking several detours along the way before reaching her current destination.  The most significant was probably her trip to America to study Architecture, which she re-routed to London when she decided to transfer to Central St Martins and finish her degree, only in Textile Design, not architecture.  Such a brave, and some may thing slightly mad, decision.  I don’t know about you,  but I am so glad she did it – I hate to think what the fashion industry would be like without her beautiful clothes and inspirational words.  After she graduated, Mary began her long and successful journey into the land of women’s wear, this time deciding to stay on at Central St Martins where, inspired by the female form,  she completed an MA in women’s wear and achieved nothing less than a distinction – her second from this world renowned design school.

Since then, Mary has been involved in countless astonishingly inspiring and gorgeous projects, both for her own line and working collaboratively alongside a whole load of big names. I am not going to make you jealous by listing all of the amazing things she has done or achieved, but instead here are a few to inspire you.  She has produced not one, not two, but three collections for Topshop, the most recent of which sold out in a record breaking 10 minutes. That’s  three times faster than Glastonbury, just to put it into perspective!  You may or may not have heard of them, but her client list includes the likes of Beyoncé and Rihanna! Not bad people to have on your CV!  She has also won a bunch of awards, far too long to list, but I suspect you may have got where I am going with this.

So, how did she get from selling eight dresses, one pair of trousers and a jacket on a single rail to being stocked in over 200 shops! Mary puts it down to three things. Alongside hard work and focus, she cites fearlessness as one of the key components of her success. Generously inspiring, Mary also shared some of her top tips and personal mantras with us, so get your pen and paper ready as you wont want to miss these:

-Uncertainty is exciting, don’t fear it.

-Natural evolution is key, so let your imagination run wild!

-Reassess at every step.

and finally, my favourite and probably Mary’s most valuable piece of advice:

– You’re not running the 100 meters, you’re running a marathon, so pace yourself and don’t worry about finding inspiration because it can and will come from anywhere, just be sure to always have an open mind.

Snap Fashion were sad to say goodbye to the king of eveningwear, Oscar De La Renta. This week we look back on some of his greatest quotes and reminisce and learn from the wise words of the greatest…

I think already we have found our favourite and most romantic moment of Milan Fashion Week: when Stefano Gabbana wrote an open love letter to his business partner, and ex-lover, Domenico Dolce.

Despite their 20-year relationship having come to an end many years ago, the pair have clearly reminded close: so close that Gabbana wanted to share his love with the whole wide world.

Here at Snap Fashion we are total suckers for a bit of romance, because of this we thought we could share the letter in full to our blog readers and app users, prepare to weep..

Dear Domenico,

I have never wrote you a letter. Maybe because there was never a need for many words between you and I. We always understood each other with a look. This is the first time I write to you and, I have to confess, it all seems strange to me.

During interviews, the sentences we exchange chase quickly, like a game of ping pong: I begin a speech and you end it, you have not even finished to express a thought that I interrupt you, reply and I finish your earlier idea.

Everything is different with a pen and a piece of paper, the words are more difficult, they have a deeper value that will forever remain unique, such as, it was and will always be you for me.

We have created together Dolce&Gabbana from scratch and with the strength of our love we have achieved everything we have. Supporting each other, we managed to overcome many difficulties and prejudice.

Even today, thanks to that feeling that binds us inextricably to each other, we will continue to face the happiness and the sorrows that life reserve to us. You are my family. Many years have passed since I first heard your voice on the other end of the phone, everything has changed and yet nothing has changed. The love that I felt then, has only been transformed, and it continues to give me so many beautiful feelings.

You are and you will always be unique in my life, so as the letter I am writing to you.

I love you,
