Discovery Monday: Wrangler’s moisturising jeans
You know that icky feeling when you put your skinny jeans on after moisturising your legs? Well it might just be a thing of the past as Wrangler has launched the first pair of moisturising jeans – yes, really.
The famous jeans co has enlisted the help of Lizzie Jagger to model the pioneering skinny-fit denims that Wrangler says incorporate “high-performance skincare ingredients to protect legs from the dehydrating effects of denim”.
There are three types of these moisturising jeans in ‘The Denim Spa’ – one with aloe vera, another with olive extract and a third called ‘Smooth Legs’, which aims to prevent cellulite. They somehow include natural oils and butters like apricot kernel oil, passion fruit oil, rosehip oil, shea butter and monoi de Tahiti – a Polynesian ingredient made using Tiare flower buds soaked in refined coconut oil. Sounds exotic!
The effects of the ingredients last for up to 15 wears and you can get a reload spray to give your jeans a moisture boost. You can get a pair from ASOS from £85 if you want to give them a go. We’d love to hear how you get on.
It’s true that these sound a bit far-fetched and futuristic (especially the aniti cellulite bit), but Wrangler says it has tested the spa jeans range on ‘real women’ – yes them again – as opposed to the imaginary type – and of the 160 women who tried them over six weeks (presumably with reload spray?) 82% said they saw beneficial effects, 76% said their skin felt softer and 69% thought that their thighs looked better.
A recipe for smooth legs or tasty disaster?!
