  1. MFW: the glamour edit

Milan is the most glamorous fashion week – or at least it seems it to me and every time I have visited Milan it has been awash with super polished, glossy ladies with a penchant for pricey handbags, heels while shopping, snakeskin, silks, furs and seriously glamorous Italian designer labels – epitomised for me by Versace and Gucci.

So without further ado, here are the looks that scream MILANO to me (unfortunately some would appear to contain real fur, which some consider luxe and glamorous but we think that fur only looks cute on happy furry animals).

Dolce & Gabbana’s show stopping finale

Etro, Versace, Bottega Veneta and Roberto Cavalli

Gucci, Alberta Ferretti, Max Mara and DSquared2

    Armani’s 1920s glamour

Salvatore Ferragamo, Emilio Pucci (LOVE those boots!) and Gianfranco Ferre

  2. MFW: Top 10 round-up

Milan Fashion week is always ‘the glamorous one’ and this season saw its fair share of red carpet worthy dresses as well as Prada’s Japanese-inspired collection…which definitely means the oriental style clothing we say on the catwalk in London is definitely going to be BIG this Spring!

Ooh and Jil Sander’s back with minimalist masterpieces.

Cara Delevingne works the runway for Dsquared2

    Gucci goes glam and colourful!

Versace goes glitzy (who would have thought?!)

Roberto Cavalli sticks to silky sexiness

Dolce & Gabbana reworks Sicilian folkiness

Moschino does the sixties – which were big (again!) at LFW

Prada mixies punk, sixties and Japan for an incredble collection

So good we’ve got it twice!

Marni does what it does best

Jil Sander’s back at Jil Sander!

  3. Micro trend: anti-detail

I was having a browse on Tumblr for several hours while watching the Queen’s boat parade on telly and noticed a new ‘thing’ and I’m calling it the ‘anti detail’ – when a detail or feature of a piece of clothing is cut out to expose some flesh.

Versace’s couture collection and recent mainline collection have showed tantalising glimpses of skin but I like the anti-pocket…skin where a pocket should be! And check out Taylor Swift’s anti-collar!

I have also realised that I have missed out on a whole DIY fashion thing of making anti-skull patterns in vests. Am I the only one?!

  4. Heavenly 7: Underwater love

We are going a teensy bit crazy for SS12’s underwater trend. Take styling tips from Ariel (or Chanel and Versace) and team minty and aqua shades with shiny silvery metallics and sinuous sequins to make like a mermaid!

This must be underwater love! Thanks Karl

Super mermaid like (oh to be ginger!) Light green sequin mini dress £30 from River Island (was £50!)

Cute pearly clutch. It's called Paloma and comes from Coast (how apt!) for £60

Super cute cream mermaid print lace hem top from River Island £25

Team with this cute mint peplum skirt from Topshop for £34...it kinda has a tail!

A little bit of seaside - amazing brooch from Tatty Devine (accept no subsitution!) £54

Add some cute and shiny slingbacks - just £29.99 from Zara

  5. Best Bag Buys

The high-street is full of amazing statement bags at the moment, and we went on a bit of a mission  to find the best ones for you. Here are our top picks.

Love this beige bag from M&S. It looks so much more expensive than £35. Do what we did and team with maxi skirt and denim jacket to smarten up your look. (It's also available in black)

Made of butter soft leather and in a statement shade of orange, this bag from M&S will add a pop of colour to your outfit - a great buy for fans of Celine.

A little bit Pucci or D&G inspired, a little bit Versace with the statement metal plaque, this bag from Topshop ticks a load of trend boxes. We loved the details like the metal balls at the sides.

Just for fun, how shocked does this bag look?! :o

  6. Style Crush: Kiernan Shipka (kinda!)

Would you take style tips from a 12 year old? Grazia think so and have a feature coming up on Kiernan Shipka, who plays Sally Draper in Mad Men – yes the little girl!

Kiernan certainly has a mature sense of style and a shoe collection most twenty/thirty-somethings would die for. We’re not sure about the Versace dress and Louboutin combo but we like the youthful Marni pic.

According to the interview Ralph Lauren is a favourite of Kiernan’s, while Grace Kelly and Zooey Deschanel are her style icons.

‘My style is constantly changing. At the moment I look preppy, but with an edge…I am a huge fashion fan. It’s a really cool way to express yourself…I’m always excited to get to set and see what I’m wearing,’ she told the magazine.

If you’re intrigued, check out Kiernan’s Coveteur.

Kiernan Shipka looks very grown-up in Versace

    Kiernan's closet - p.s. if you're not a Coveteur follower you're missing out!

    Love the Marni jacket

  7. Heavenly 7: Oscars dresses

So we’re a little behind, but for those who can’t get enough of Hollywood glamour, here’s our Oscars edit and it includes some dresses that the critics panned. Oh well.  P.S. We missed Kristen Stewart and Maggie Gyllenhaal :(

    Which is your fav frock?

Sophisticated but still cute: Emma Stone in Giambattista Valli

Felicity Jones looks fierce in Johanna Johnson

Super Gwyneth in a cape! By Tom Ford - oh yes.

Kate Bosworth in what we think might be Marchesa?

A tricky dress by Louis Vuitton. Some hated it but we salute you Michelle Williams

The pose to strike next time. Pose aside, Angelina OWNS this Versace classic

My absolute favourite. Rooney Mara rocks Givenchy
