I have kinda always wanted to go to Comic-Con – not because I’m a massive comic book geek but just for a slightly surreal experience. The main draw this year seems to have been the stars of Twilight (and not sadly for us in the Snap office, Emma Stone and her totally preppy Spiderman look!) Whatever, we like Kristen Stewart’s hi-tops and the rest of the Twilight stars’ sparkly details and luxe leather looks.
‘Very few’ stylists want to work with Kristen Stewart, according to reports, which say that the 21 year-old Twilight star’s quirky sense of style is the turn-off.
Apparently celebrity stylists have even labeled Kristen a ‘fashion pariah’ because of her love of casual clothing…even though she’s part of the Twilight phenomenon.
We’re not quite sure what the problem is really, especially as Kristen recently dazzled in a Roberto Cavalli and J. Mendel gowns at the recent Breaking Dawn premieres. We’re not sure if the looks were put together by stylists (some do an amazing job!) but Kristen looked a million dollars and we found the fact that she swapped her killer heels for trainers when doing a walkabout on the red carpet, refreshing.
Maybe it all comes down to personal preference; whether people are desperate to see Hollywood ‘perfection’ engineered by fashion experts and celebrities who never put a sartorial foot out of line…or not.
But we like Kristen’s laid back style and fashion identity – life’s pretty boring if everyone looks the same!
So it’s that time of year again when the Halloween costume presents a sartorial challenge – how to do scary or witty whilst still looking fashionable, or at least vaguely attractive.
And every year it reminds me of the bit in Mean Girls (if you follow our blog you’ll know I have a soft spot for ‘bad’ films) which for me, sums up Halloween party dressing completely.
Tulisa was the only X-Factor judge who donned a Halloween Costume, Kelly Brook scored top marks for being very slightly imaginative, whilst the Hilton sisters, Petra Ecclestone, Jersey Shore’s Jwoww and Kim Kardashian all played the overtly sexy Halloween card.
Kelly Brook makes a convincing scary Bella
Tulisa as Catwoman (didn't get the memo that the others weren't dressing up?)
Jwoww vamps it up as ?! but we do like her cute pooches
Katy Perry - believe it or not!
Kim Kardashian in full-on Poison Ivy get-up
Petra Ecclestone as Jessica Rabbit
Paris Hilton as yet another super hero...Shera!
Nicky Hilton opts for that Halloween default costume option - cat.
And finally…this is probably the one I’d pick!
Blake Lively accessories a perfectly nice outfit with a giant pumpkin
Now we’ve got even more celebrity costumes…enjoy and Happy Halloween!
Emma Roberts as a Playboy Bunny
Gwen Stefani does Cinderella
Heidi Klum is just terrifying - how long did that makeup take?!
Jessica Alba keeps its simple as a classic witch
Nicole Richie dresses up at J-Lo (you have to laugh!)
You love Kristen Stewart’s GQ cover (so do we) so here’s another one. OK it’s not as arty as the GQ one but she still looks pretty. What do you think of the top? We’re not sure!
Kristen's November's Glamour girl
Oh you’re going to love us! We have pics from the inside – handy if like us you’re in the UK and can’t scoot to an American news stand. Courtesy of The DM.
Love this look! Sosume tee, Peter Som lace shorts + Alexander Wang heels *drool*
Racy dress by Stella McCartney. Do you like the Ash boots?
We don’t plan on ripping off the editorial (go buy the mag!) but feisty Kristen’s reltionship advice is ‘don’t settle’ for rubbish relationships and clearly she doesn’t have to having bagged twilight co-star Robert Pattinson (who apparently is attending the London Twilight premiere…sleeping bags at the ready!)
We love Kristen Stewart’s quirky fashion sense and the fact she never looks too over-done. All too often newly perma-tanned Hollywood starlets lose their edge stripping off for men’s magazines or go for the ball gown/dripping in diamonds look so we love that Kristen still looks like herself for this GQ cover.
Mulberry is the British brand of the moment and there was a front row to match. Kate Moss braved double denim ,while Twilight’s Kristen Stewart kept it simple in a flirty monochrome frock and Olivia Palermo picked blush and denim in *gasp* the second row.
First, the celebs…SCROLL DOWN FOR MULBERRY COLLECTION…
Kate rocked tricky double denim with a shirt from Mulberry’s SS12 Pre Collection, while Kristen pledged her brand allegiance in braided boots (and a Neely dress).
FROW line-up : impressive.
Olivia in the second row (we're still jealous!)
Kristen Stewart, Mulberry's Emma Bailey and Kate Moss
We love Olivia's metallic blush top, glitter clutch and jeans combo
Brix with a v cute Mulberry-clad pug. Is it Gladys?
Anyone for designer icecream?
The collection channelled ice cream colours and brights inspired by Brit seaside penny arcades – much like Jaeger’s collection, which used sorbet colours and deckchair stripes. We love the fact that Mulberry embraced the rainy days at British seaside too with bright macs – even for dogs! We just want it all.
Remember those FAB lollies?! Ooh - the colour of 'ZAP' icecream. (Too excited!)
Floaty lemon sherbert dress - lighter than lemon merringue pie!
We love this pretty pastel print mixed with a 90s girl parka
Having caused a bit of a sensation with her W Magazine cover, everyone’s favourite angst-ridden vampire lover, Kristen Stewart has starred in a music video for her boyfriend, (Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson – in case you’ve been living on the moon or something) best buddy, singer Marcus Foster.
You can watch the video here but currently no audio is allowed because of copyright problems, which dulls the effect slightly, but there is no denying that the video if pretty beautiful…and haunting and brooding as you might expect.
Here are some stills of Kristen if you’re impatient!
We’re used to seeing K-Stew as brooding Bella in The Twilight Saga socouldn’t help but re-post these incredible shots from September’s W Magazine where she’s vamping it up 60’s style.
We’ll be blogging up a storm on sexy 60s-style fashion items later but to get the make-up look, we LOVE this vlog from make-up artist and YouTube starlet Tanya Burr (pixi2woo) inspired by 60s icon Brigitte Bardot - more than a little similar to Kristen’s look we think you’ll agree.
