  1. Discovery Monday: Starstyling

Oh how I wish I knew about the Starstyling label when I was in Berlin…but Topshop is stocking some special pieces in its Emerge section, which is great news for us Brits. As you know, we’re suckers for stripes at Snap (especially the Breton variety) so we are naturally crazy for Starstyling.

The label was created by Katja Schlegel and Kai Seifried who love exploratory techniques and patterns with an urban edge, whether that means spattered paint or neat neon lines. We LOVE the fact that their SS12 collection is playfully called ‘Striped for your right to party’ and these are perfect party clothes with a sporty style perfect for this summer and the Olympics.

According to fashion blog Unlike, Starstyling isn’t about fashion per se but the ‘critical analysis and visual reflection of trends and society’. That means slinky jersey, neon stitching and print and even details made from recycled table cloths. Are you a fan?

Get a slice of the action at Topshop. I LOVE these printed shorts £50

Printed Stripe Skirt by Starstyling £75

Super slubby hoodie. ‘Reflex’ big hoodie £155

  2. Neon jewellery: Tom Binns vs Zara

We’ve been massive fans of Tom Binns for aaages and his perfect use of neon crystals. I love to see one of his neon necklaces thrown on over a well-loved grey tee for a casual gone glam look and now we’ve spotted a distinctly Binns-esque necklace in Zara. It comes in pink too but I love this necklace in a shot of SS12’s hottest colour – lemon yellow.

P.S. H&M is jumping on the neon jewellery band wagon too and we spied a cute necklace that seems to be inspired by Bex Rox.

Fauve hand-painted Swarovski crystal necklace £805

Stone necklace with neon touches £15.99 from Zara

  3. Kristen Stewart wows in neon

Kristen Stewart has been spotted out and about in recent days to premote her new film Snow White and has dazzled on the red carpet.

But we’re particularly taken with her smart casual outfit and in particular her awesome neon heels – an easy way to jump on the neon trend bandwagon without looking like an extra in My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.

    LOVE neon!

  4. Discovery Monday: Bex Rox

You’ve probably seen BEX ROX jewellery in plenty of magazines and Bex Manners’ work is perfect for SS12: neon plus sporty- what more could you want?!

Bex was born in the Balearics and her designs are a little free and rave-y in places with lots of texture (apparently influenced by her travels around South East Asia, Australia and South America). When she got back she worked as a stylist assistant at French Vogue and W Magazine…jealous much?

Since the launch of her jewellery line in 2006, the brand has bagged the Coutts New Jewellers Award and is now sold in 19 countries. Impressed? In fact it’s so popular the high street has produced its on BEX ROX-inspired pieces, but with prices for the real thing starting at £45 they are completely obtainable with a little saving.

BEX ROX Eivissa box necklace £290

The one you can afford - Fluoro friendship bracelet £45

    I love this 'H cuff' for £120

Inspired? Topshop's Premium rhinestone wrap collar necklace £45

The budget option: wrapped mesh collar £8.50 from Topshop again

  5. Japan Fashion Week: Glow-in-the-dark clothes!

This week seems to be one of 90s revivals (we got SO excited about The Stone Roses reunion) but now it looks like the rave is due for a re-boot too as one designer at Japan Fashion Week has shown off a collection of glow-in-the-dark clothing.

Taiwanese couturier Johan Ku’s S/S12 collection called ‘The Two Faces’ features normal-looking clothes that also glow brightly in greens and blues.

Are you mad for a day-glo revival?

    Ghostly green

    Nothing new about neon

    Not exactly rave-shaped wear
