We love Kristen Stewart’s quirky fashion sense and the fact she never looks too over-done. All too often newly perma-tanned Hollywood starlets lose their edge stripping off for men’s magazines or go for the ball gown/dripping in diamonds look so we love that Kristen still looks like herself for this GQ cover.

Sneak Peek: Versace for H&M

Put the 19^th November in your diaries – the day Versace for H&M hits the shops.

Vogue US has a sneak peek of what we can expect and the collection seems to focus on the 1990s heyday. We love the $30 print leggings and the full-on $149 mini dress – for the serious Versace fans. But we’ll be interested to see if the belt, bracelet and earrings on the model will be on sale too – a potentially cheap way of adding that blinged Versace look to the simplest of outfits.

OTT or in love?

Scarlett Johansson in Dolce & Gabbana frow

We were so so worried about D&G winding down as it’s defined some serious trends for over a decade but Dolce & Gabbana is still very much alive and our go-to for sassy evening wear (after we win the lottery).

Inspiration: Glamour and incredibly detailed beading in a Vegas show girl kind of way. And vegetables (who’d have thought!) Of course Italian culture also figured…PASTA EARRINGS!

The Look: For party time: sexy crocheted and lace black dresses showing a lot of skin, dresses encrusted with plenty of coloured stones mixed with glitzy fringing, show-girl style sequinned swimsuits with fringing.

For daytime, Dolce & Gabanna took inspiration from vegetables (in a more grown-up way than Moschino Cheap & Chic) with chills, aubergines, onions and tomatoes creating rural idyll print retro-style dresses. Full skirts, printed chiffon, cut-out cotton playsuits and 1950s style underwear made for a sexy rustic look.

Best Bit: The finale where models packed the catwalk wearing retro sequinned swimwear. So glam.

Notes: Scroll all the way down for the frow including Scarlett and Paloma Faith.

The Look: Big block colour, simple A-line dresses with nude petticoats and big bold 1970s floral prints. Retro cropped jackets and leather pencil skirts were key shapes too.

Colour-wise everything was vibrant and graphic with 70s chocolate and yellow hues as well as plenty of graphic navy circles and stripes to break up the florals.

Best Bit: Perspex flowers on miniskirts and amazing floral coat.

MFW: Tutti fruity Moschino Cheap and Chic

Inspiration: A fruit and veg stall (as seen at the show!) flowers and according to the brand: “For centuries, it has been said that if the body is healthy, so is the mind… Healthy fashion means a healthy body

The Look: Fruit prints a-plenty (we love the silky apple maxi dress), crisp white and colour blocked colour dresses, silky florals. Quirky vegetable buttons and a carrot hat also featured to make sure the audience got their 5-a-day. There was also plenty of raffia – on daisy-pattern wedges, incorporated into hair styles, boater hats and even a cropped jacket.

Best Bit: The strawberry dress! Bonkers but we love it.

Notes: The collection is called Beautyfood. We’ve seen plenty of lemon and tangerine hues for SS12 but this was the most literal and fun fruity themed collection.

MFW: Anna dello Russo at Pucci: Gypsy Glamour

Inspiration: Exotic gyspy girls and arguably Catholicism (according to Elle) which picked out black lace trims, cross necklaces and shawls as proof of inspiration…not the short shorts and bare midriffs!

The Look:  Sultry gypsy girls rocking pretty prints in warm colour palettes, peasant tops, flouncy skirts and dresses of scarf-like construction. Then of course there is plenty of black lace, gold studs, big earrings and sheer clothing for some exotic sex appeal.

Best Bit: The mix of floaty pastel gypsy shapes with seriously smoky eyes. Oh and Anna dello Russo’s OTT feathery dress early in the morning!

Notes: While Moschino channelled matadors and flamenco dresses in its catwalk show, there were gypsy similarities and lots of gold detailing. Which do you prefer?

MFW: Just Cavalli looks to summer festival season

Phew! Bestival has just closed the 2011 summer music festival season and we’ve hung our muddy wellies up, but the Just Cavalli Milan catwalk had festival fever!

Inspiration: Summer Music Festivals, 60s vintage-style summer gatherings and a little Navajo chic. And Cavalli animal print of course! Arguably Kate Moss’ festival staples – fedoras, teeny shorts and waistcoats.

The Look:  Plaited hair, floaty floral kaftans with Navajo fringing, leather, furry jackets with more rock and roll animal print, metallic jeans and studded waistcoats. A polished festival look with pastels and that sherbert lemon colour.

Best Bit: Floaty mini dress with studded and furry waistcoat – love!

Lindsay has also landed a new job as the face of German designer Philipp Plein. She replaces OC actress Mischa Barton.

Plein reportedly said: “Lindsay is a beautiful, highly acclaimed actress and model. We will be able to create unique images: Refined and luxurious, but also full of sensuality.” Bless.

MFW: Jil Sander debuts neon paisley

How we love Jil Sander (and are still mourning the loss of the Uniqlo collaboration. Snap up those coats pronto people!)

Inspiration: As ever clean cut and leans, beauty parlour uniforms (apparently not Auston Powers)

The Look:  Ultra bright paisley prints, block colour and crisp white. Shape-wise Raf Simons showed almost austere shirt dresses, pencil skirts, short/jacket colour blocked suits and beautifully simple white gowns.

Best Bit: Paisley – recognisably Jil Sander but still a bit quirky and new.

Notes: A crazy press release was distributed that said: “it is a progressive dedication of caring, committing and emotional well-being that leads to a metaphorical beauty parlour where treatment becomes a social relation”. (obviously.)
