  1. Want to walk in Carrie Bradshaw’s shoes?

Ever wanted to raid Carrie Bradshaw’s epic shoe collection or strut around in Madonna’s boots? Well now you can – for a price!

Sarah Jessica Parker is donating three pairs of Sex & the City character Carrie Bradshaw’s shoes for a charity auction (NYC’s LaGuardia High School for Music, Art and Performing Arts, to be precise). Madonna’s boots and Britney’s really-well-loved wedges are also up for grabs to the highest bidder – natch.

    Love these Jonathan Kelsey beauties

SJP has donated Prada peep-tole mules with studs, Jonathan Kelsey silver sandals and killer courts by Dolce Vita. They all come with a mini message from SJP too, including: “Enjoy and be careful,” which should probably come with every pair of strappy heels.

    Love from SATC!

Oh to have the rest of Carrie’scollection too!

Apparently SJP kept close to three quarters of her alter ego’s wardrobe (being the star and exec producer of SATC has its perks) and we can only dream about the rest of her shoe collection, no doubt containing at least one pair of Carrie’s beloved Manolos.

Madonna has also donated a pair of daring leopard print though high boots by Miu Miu that she wore for her super bowl performance last year. Elle Macpherson has gifted an even more risqué pair of Manolo Blahnik boots that she wore to strut down a catwalk, while there are some more practical brown boots worn by Elvis that he wore in 1969 for his comeback live performance at the International Hotel in Las Vegas.

Madonna’s leopard Miu Miu boots and Elle Macpherson’s fierce Manolos!

But none are less practical that Britney Spears’ REALLY well-worn wedges from her ‘Crazy’ tour.More intriguing than the battered shoes are the notes that accompany them, written on ripped pieces of paper and reading ‘Don’t let me be the last to know’…clearly about shoe maintenance.

  2. Diet Coke x Jean Paul Gaultier

Ex Bond girl Gemma Arterton wore a daring corset dress by Jean Paul Gaultier to the unveiling of the designer’s coke bottle collection for Diet Coke…in fact her hourglass figure and lacey get-up reminded us of JPG’s iconic perfume bottles!

How to do the hourglass thing!

    Le perfume!

The Coke bottles however are limited edition and called night and day. As a sucker for Breton stripes (a favourite of JPG) I will be looking for the day bottle, but fans of Madonna’s 1990s dress sense, especially her iconic JPG corset will opt for the more seductive night. You can gets yours in Harvey Nichols.

JPG joins Karl Lagerfeld, Gianfranco Ferre and Patricia Field who have all previously designed couture bottles.

    Stripe loving!

The Night bottle - ooh la la!

  3. Lady Gaga vs Marilyn Monroe

    Lady Gaga vs Marilyn Monroe

We have to give props to Lady Gaga and her fashion feats of the last year. She truly is a trend chameleon. From tottering in Noritaka Tatehana heel-less platforms and wearing sky-high beehives to that meat-dress, Gaga has also tried on  Audrey Hepburn, Cousin IT and arguably Madonna’s styles…and now she’s channelling Marilyn Monroe.

Of course Gaga isn’t the only celeb who has dressed up as Marilyn of late as Michelle Williams is currently starring in film, My Week with Marilyn.

  4. Lady Gaga covers Vanity Fair + Elle

Lady Gaga is everywhere and on two magazine covers in January alone – Vanity Fair and Elle.

The Elle cover is futuristic and Gaga is wearing an orange Alexander McQueen SS12 creation (we’re not too sure about the green outfit) but it’s very late 1990s in style.

Vanity Fair is much more dramatic and cinematic in style and reminds us of Madonna a little – anyone else?! Gaga’s wearing Versace btw.

    Which is your favourite?

Gaga wears extremely beautiful McQueen SS12

    What a hat

    Reminds me of 1990s Madonna

  5. Mad about Madonna – Venice Film Festival

You’ve got to admire the first queen of pop for her daring fashion sense and multiple reinventions over the years and yet this is one of our favourite looks on her- and it’s much more conservative than the spray-on leotard of recent years.

Madonna graced the red carpet at this year’s Venice Film Festival, making her directorial debut for the upcoming film, W.E, a two-tiered romantic drama focusing on the affair between King Edward VIII and American divorcée Wallis Simpson and a contemporary romance between a married woman and a Russian security guard,” according to IMDB. Sounds good.

It’s easy to forget Madonna’s 53, especially in this seriously elegant one-off butterfly print dress by Italian fashion house Vionnet. Note the lack of facial wrinkles and super toned arms too –metamorphosis to youthful film buff complete.

Opinion seems to be spilt as to whether the star’s over-sized red glittery Miu Miu glasses ruined the classy ensemble but we think she looks kind-of cool and genuinely happy. It’s quite nice to see a bit of personality on the red carpet now-and-again, if not impeccable style!

    Glittery glasses: hit or miss?

One last pic - we just love it!
