Louis Vuitton: Stars are check mates

Hollywood’s hottest have gone crazy for Louis Vuitton’s SS13 check dresses and we’re not at all surprised!

The Vuitton show was a stand-out SS13 fashion week moment with paired-off models negotiating escalators and sashaying down the runway. Worked on a larger scale in every-day life, it would be the most fashionable commute. Ever.

So channel a chess board this spring and draw inspiration from Marc Jacob’s amazing Louis Vuitton collection…with a few styling tips from the celebs thrown in for good measure. Here’s our pick of the celebs who are rocking the check look best – from ladylike looks to Kristen Stewart!

Hello Hollywood, there’s a new IT shoe in town and it’s the Jimmy Choo ‘Taste’ Sandal. As if heels aren’t usually painful enough, these sexy sandals feature wire (we’re sure it doesn’t cut feet) that looks pretty cool. Strangely they also remind me of Spirographs and Henry Moore’s sculptures. Who do you think wears them best?

Kristen Stewart: the beat goes on

It’s easy to forget how young Kristen Stewart is. She seems to have been around forever with Twilight, her long-term relationship, mature way of handling the press, defined sense of style and now the whole ‘affair’ thing. And woah she looks sophisticated in this Vogue editorial (we do like it!).

Kristen has a knack for vamping it up in the red carpet, but I can’t wait to see her in ‘On the Road’ this Autumn where she will have to look much younger and more natural! Plus it’s one of my favourite ever books. Has there ever been a cooler movement than the Beats?

I have kinda always wanted to go to Comic-Con – not because I’m a massive comic book geek but just for a slightly surreal experience. The main draw this year seems to have been the stars of Twilight (and not sadly for us in the Snap office, Emma Stone and her totally preppy Spiderman look!) Whatever, we like Kristen Stewart’s hi-tops and the rest of the Twilight stars’ sparkly details and luxe leather looks.

Both campaigns are bright and feature two teen favourites – Kristen Stewart and Georgia May Jagger. But Kristen has bagged a high fashion perfume campaign and looks sophisticated beyond her years, while Mick Jagger’s little Girl has cozied up to the Queen of pop’s clothing line, Material Girl and looks incredibly fresh faced. Which do you prefer?

Woah – another fiery interview from Kristen Stewart. The headline quote goes like this… “I have been criticized a lot for not looking perfect in every photograph. I get some serious **** about it. I’m not embarrassed about it. I’m proud of it. If I took perfect pictures all the time, the people standing in the room with me, or on the carpet, would think, What an actress! What a faker!”

And there’s plenty more. Opinion seems to be divided about Kristen’s seemingly explosive interview technique and whether her brand of irreverence about promoting films is good. Who knows, but we do love this editorial, shot by Mario Testino in Paris.
