  1. Stars who can Cannes

So it’s that time of year again – the Cannes Film Festival is in town … well, Cannes to be specific. There have been so many red carpet moments, but how about we pick our favourite some more casual-ish looks for a change?

Casual might be over-stating it a little … after all there are some killer heels and dresses that you really wouldn’t want to spill your dinner on … but no frou frou frills or intricate lace trains here. Enjoy x

Hollywood’s hottest have gone crazy for Louis Vuitton’s SS13 check dresses and we’re not at all surprised!

The Vuitton show was a stand-out SS13 fashion week moment with paired-off models negotiating escalators and sashaying down the runway. Worked on a larger scale in every-day life, it would be the most fashionable commute. Ever.

So channel a chess board this spring and draw inspiration from Marc Jacob’s amazing Louis Vuitton collection…with a few styling tips from the celebs thrown in for good measure. Here’s our pick of the celebs who are rocking the check look best – from ladylike looks to Kristen Stewart!

  3. Chanel’s Little Black Jacket Exhibition will land in London!

Get excited! Following massive success in Tokyo, New York, Taipei and Hong Kong, Chanel’s Little Black Jacket exhibition is coming to London!

We’ve read our fair share of articles over the years claiming that Chanel jacket is a wardrobe essential (if you can afford one) and it’s one of those classic lust-have pieces. But recently we’ve been rather taken with the work of various bloggers and fashion journalists who have religiously worn the Chanel jacket and styled it in different ways to prove its versatility and timelessness. If you wore it every day for the next decade it could prove to be affordable on a buy-per-wear calculation…(that’s what we’re telling ourselves).

Of course the project began as a super stylish coffee table book of various models, actors, designers and musos wearing the jacket their way. When the idea is from Karl Lagerfeld and Vogue Paris editor Carine Roitfeld you know it’s a good one and even better when Karl takes all 113 photos himself.

You can get your fashionable mitts on the book this Autumn and visit the exhibition from 12-28 October at The Saatchi Gallery, Duke of York’s HQ, King’s Road, London, SW3 4RY. Admission is free so there’s no excuse – put it in your diary!

For real Chanel anoraks (or should that be LBJs) there will also be some beautiful window displays in Chanel’s Bond Street, Sloane Square and Brompton Cross boutiques. Get more here including an amazing video about the making of the jacket.

  4. Kirsten Dunst and pyjama tops

You know how much we love pyjama style trousers and shorts? Well thanks to Kirsten Dunst and her casual Cannes ensemble, we are now equally smitten with cool silky pyjama-style tops and have spotted the perfect budget-conscious buy from ASOS. Enjoy x

  5. White blazers: celeb inspiration

My white blazer is one of my best buys of this season (so far!) and will be a keeper. Mango has really pulled out the stops for its SS12 collection including a timeless tailored white tux jacket for just £35. The amazing thing is that the cut is superb (neat but can work as a casual number) and the fabric is good quality, so proof that ‘investment pieces’ do not have to cost lots…and if it’s good enough for Kate Moss

In case you are in any doubt, here are plenty of celebs rocking white blazers. Mine has worked hard this winter with pointy maroon boots, black skinny jeans and a grey t-shirt, but this summer I will team it with a Hawaiian-print skirt (and slubby tee- always!) as well as perky pastel dresses and bright skinny jeans. The only problem? Tube grime. (London girls will feel my pain).

  6. Best dressed: celebs wrapping up for Sundance

So the Sundance Film Festival has just finished in chilly Utah and some of our favourite celebs –Kirsten Dunst, Emma Roberts, Elizabeth Olsen and more – gave us a bit of a fashion master class in wrapping up warm and layering clothes without looking like the Michelin man!

  7. Best dressed: big awards round-up

Woah tis the season of lots of awards and therefore even more red carpet looks. It’s the Golden Globes tonight/tomorrow depending on where you live, so we better get this round-up done fast!

Miranda Kerr stole the headlines at W magazine’s pre Golden Globe party in a white plunging dress.  Dare we say it, while plenty of people looked super pretty, the dresses were a little ‘safe’. So here are our pick of the more interesting outfits, including Emma Stone’s peachy dress at the Vanity Fair party, Rooney Mara in Lanvin at the AFI Awards, plus Rachel Bilson and Kirsten Dunst at the Art of Elysium Heaven Gala. Enjoy!

My fav: Rachel Bilson in Chanel

Rooney Mara in Lanvin. This girl can't put a fashionable foot wrong!

Emma Stone looks peachy - We're not 100% sure this dress works with her colouring but it is different compared to a zillion body-con numbers!

  8. Kirsten Dunst with black hair

Yes you read that right. Granted it’s not the most original headline- but yes, Kirsten Dunst is doing dark and mysterious, in a year when everyone else is going pastel pink.

We actually really like it. The shoot is for AnOther Magazine by Mario Sorrenti and Kirsten is a successful hair chameleon. Do you like it?

  9. Kirsten Dunst wears Miu Miu for Lucky cover

Barely a week goes by when we don’t wax lyrical about Kirsten Dunst’s amazing ability to rock any sort of trend – as well as her enviable personal casual style.

And now Kirsten is wearing Miu Miu for the January cover of Lucky magazine. With Dianna Agron also doing a bright Pop Art- style 1960s shoot, we’re torn about which one we prefer.

  10. Kirsten Dunst for T magazine + REM

Kirsten Dunst has sported some pretty sophisticated outits of late – whether it’s a chic print dress, leather dress or cute polka dot midi, but we’re also a fan of her lighter side so we LOVE this shoot for T Magazine (via amazing blog SouvenirsofaGirl).

    Kirsten is fruit loopy!

Kinda reminds us of Marie Antoinette (go watch!)

Love everything about this super-wearable look

    More of a statement coat!

And back to the Kirsten’s serious side…this time in a video for now disbanded band REM.
