Perfect for spring, pale pinks, fresh whites and subtle lilacs and mauves were favourite choices for actresses at the Oscars last night. We won’t go on about who won what (everybody knows!) so instead we’ve rounded up some favourite frocks worn by attendees of the awards and various glamorous parties going on as Hollywood gives itself its annual pat on the back.

A quick search on www.SnapFashion.co.uk came up with this colour match for Jessica Chastain’s dress. A more wearable and affordable alternative
My white blazer is one of my best buys of this season (so far!) and will be a keeper. Mango has really pulled out the stops for its SS12 collection including a timeless tailored white tux jacket for just £35. The amazing thing is that the cut is superb (neat but can work as a casual number) and the fabric is good quality, so proof that ‘investment pieces’ do not have to cost lots…and if it’s good enough for Kate Moss…
In case you are in any doubt, here are plenty of celebs rocking white blazers. Mine has worked hard this winter with pointy maroon boots, black skinny jeans and a grey t-shirt, but this summer I will team it with a Hawaiian-print skirt (and slubby tee- always!) as well as perky pastel dresses and bright skinny jeans. The only problem? Tube grime. (London girls will feel my pain).

Kirsten Dunst in timeless monochrome
Olivia Palermo rocks a long-line dinner jacket at LFW SS12
So the Sundance Film Festival has just finished in chilly Utah and some of our favourite celebs –Kirsten Dunst, Emma Roberts, Elizabeth Olsen and more – gave us a bit of a fashion master class in wrapping up warm and layering clothes without looking like the Michelin man!
Kirsten Dunst looks cute and faux furry
Emma Roberts proves winter warmers can be vamped up with tights
Elizabeth Olsen looks cute in a Topshop sweater
Lizzy Caplan and the cute statement hat
Kate Bosworth braves the cold in SS12 Antonio Berardi
Nope it’s not Halloween again, but Emma Roberts has been spotted out and about in a skeleton print sweater, resurrecting a spooky trend that was all the rage in AW08 -maybe. Are you a fan?

Not a day goes by when we don’t hear some sort of excitement/hype about Versace’s collection for H&M and last night the stars were out in force at the official launch in New York.
Many of the celebs were wearing clothes from the new collection (perks eh?), with Emma Roberts and Nicky Minaj wearing daring trousers and matching tops, while Jennifer Hudson, Jessica Alba, Selma Blair and Chloe Moretz donned cute dresses. Helena Christensen and Sofia Coppola looked amazing in a simple figure-hugging black dress from the collection and Blake Lively kept her outfit monochrome- although we’re not sure if it’s Versace – it’s not H&M!
Top fashion marks to Emma Roberts for pulling this tricky outfit off!
Chloe Moretz is mellow in yellow
Selma Blair is pretty in pink
My favourite- Jessica Alba sparkles in Versace for H&M separates
Jennifer Hudson sticks to an LBD
Helena Christensen + Sofia Coppola wear the same dress...
...who wore it best?
Which items do you have your eye on when the collection launches in the UK on 17th of November?
So it’s that time of year again when the Halloween costume presents a sartorial challenge – how to do scary or witty whilst still looking fashionable, or at least vaguely attractive.
And every year it reminds me of the bit in Mean Girls (if you follow our blog you’ll know I have a soft spot for ‘bad’ films) which for me, sums up Halloween party dressing completely.
Tulisa was the only X-Factor judge who donned a Halloween Costume, Kelly Brook scored top marks for being very slightly imaginative, whilst the Hilton sisters, Petra Ecclestone, Jersey Shore’s Jwoww and Kim Kardashian all played the overtly sexy Halloween card.
Kelly Brook makes a convincing scary Bella
Tulisa as Catwoman (didn't get the memo that the others weren't dressing up?)
Jwoww vamps it up as ?! but we do like her cute pooches
Katy Perry - believe it or not!
Kim Kardashian in full-on Poison Ivy get-up
Petra Ecclestone as Jessica Rabbit
Paris Hilton as yet another super hero...Shera!
Nicky Hilton opts for that Halloween default costume option - cat.
And finally…this is probably the one I’d pick!
Blake Lively accessories a perfectly nice outfit with a giant pumpkin
Now we’ve got even more celebrity costumes…enjoy and Happy Halloween!
Emma Roberts as a Playboy Bunny
Gwen Stefani does Cinderella
Heidi Klum is just terrifying - how long did that makeup take?!
Jessica Alba keeps its simple as a classic witch
Nicole Richie dresses up at J-Lo (you have to laugh!)
Slightly different shape but these gold glitter courts are just £40 from Miss Selfridge!
The good news is that for those without a Miu Miu budget, the high street is choc full of glittery look-a-likes. Perfect for party season they come in a variety of colours and we predict we’ll be seeing even more of these!
Is it art or attention seeking? Clever + Edgy or a step too far?
Arty photographer to the stars, Tyler Shields is in hot water (again) this time about a set of photos of Glee’s Heather Morris that allude to domestic violence (in a playful way?!) and Mischa Barton chewing provocatively on raw meat. Although Tyler specialises in nudity, guns, violence, gore and sexually provocative scenes in his work.
Controversy aside, there is no doubt of Tyler’s influence, particularly among Hollywood’s hottest and most fashionable starlets – particularly Diana Agron, Emma Roberts, style crush Juno Temple and Linsay Lohan. Tell us what you think!
Tiara + cake - we love this Emma Roberts pic!
Lindsay Lohan jumps on the sexy vampire bandwagon!
Fellow Glee girl Heather Morris poses with a black eye...tasteless or thought provoking?
You probably know her as Lola from Atonementor a pupil in St Trinians and Wild Child but now Juno Temple’s grown up and got cool – in a Nylon girl kinda way (by that we mean far cooler than I was at her age or am now in fact).
I do want to see ‘Dirty Girl’ her new film – but am too old and will probably deny this later. It goes without saying Juno loves 90s bands, Bowie and Dylan. To be fair though the grunge/ alt band thing has rubbed off on her dress sense and we like it. Although I always feel a little silly stealing styling tips from a youngster
It’s not only the clothes on the catwalk that come under scrutiny in fashion week- there’s of course the celebs on the front row. Without further ado, here are some of our favourites.
Beyonce has a golden glow at the J Crew show
Elle Fanning is sooo Marc Jacobs at his show
Star(let) cluster: Emma Roberts, Mandy Moore & Michelle Trachtenberg at Marchesa
Glee's Lea Michelle is cute and quirky at Jason Wu
Leigh Lezark looks wonderfully wine-y at Jak Posen
Daphne Guiness and Courtney Love show their unique styles.
