  2. Best dressed: BAFTAs

As we separate the winners from the losers (if any Hollywood star is a loser) at this year’s BAFTAs, we’ve picked our favourite looks from the red carpet. From classic Chanel Couture and monochrome Dior to canary yellow and a very cool jumpsuit, there’s something for everyone! Jessica Chastain wins the prize for Vogueing in the rain…no-one has ever looked like they’re having so much fun in drizzley London.

  3. Chanel’s Little Black Jacket Exhibition will land in London!

Get excited! Following massive success in Tokyo, New York, Taipei and Hong Kong, Chanel’s Little Black Jacket exhibition is coming to London!

We’ve read our fair share of articles over the years claiming that Chanel jacket is a wardrobe essential (if you can afford one) and it’s one of those classic lust-have pieces. But recently we’ve been rather taken with the work of various bloggers and fashion journalists who have religiously worn the Chanel jacket and styled it in different ways to prove its versatility and timelessness. If you wore it every day for the next decade it could prove to be affordable on a buy-per-wear calculation…(that’s what we’re telling ourselves).

Of course the project began as a super stylish coffee table book of various models, actors, designers and musos wearing the jacket their way. When the idea is from Karl Lagerfeld and Vogue Paris editor Carine Roitfeld you know it’s a good one and even better when Karl takes all 113 photos himself.

You can get your fashionable mitts on the book this Autumn and visit the exhibition from 12-28 October at The Saatchi Gallery, Duke of York’s HQ, King’s Road, London, SW3 4RY. Admission is free so there’s no excuse – put it in your diary!

For real Chanel anoraks (or should that be LBJs) there will also be some beautiful window displays in Chanel’s Bond Street, Sloane Square and Brompton Cross boutiques. Get more here including an amazing video about the making of the jacket.

  4. Elizabeth Olsen rocks velvet suit

And here were we thinking that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were the edgy dressers of the family. Elizabeth Olsen has stepped out in the trickiest of ensembles – a velvet suit – and has managed not to look like a 1960s throwback (think Austin Powers) or one of those matchy-matchy velour and diamante tracksuit gym bunnies.  Go Elizabeth!

  5. LFW day2/3: Stella McCartney vs Mulberry

Both shows were packed with celebs, drama and were one of LFW’s hottest tickets so how did Stella’s starry dinner compare with Mulberry’s magical woodland?

    Mulberry: yetis + monsters!

Halloween came early at Mulberry as monsters, yetis and Where The Wild Things Are inspired outfits were de rigour…as well as some elegant gowns and sensational printed parkers – my new lust-have.

You’ll be wearing furry gilets and jackets belted at the waist with thick woolly items and sleek lady-like skirts teamed with heeled hiking boots (dig them out from Winter ’10). Tangerine and burnt tones with brown and black zigzags, mixed textures and quilting made up the outdoorsy winter-wear, while star prints and subtle multicoloured metallics will make winter sparkle in due time.

We also glimpsed the new Del Rey bag, aptly carried by Lana in ostrich white.

Guest list: Laura Carmichael and Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey) sat alongside Michelle Williams, Elizabeth Olsen, Lana Del Rey, Pixie Geldof, Azealia Banks, Olivia Palermo, Pixie Lott, Anna Wintour…impressive!

    Stella: dinner for hundreds

According to Vogue the celebs sat down to a tasty veggie dinner chez Stella while models wafted around, then at 11pm a famous magician entertained the crowd by apparently hypnotising Alexa Chung before balancing her on three swords. And it got weirder…a model started screaming, waiters dropped their trays and a flash mob ensued with models carried in on chairs. To hell with a catwalk!

Guest list: Rihanna, Kate Moss, Yasmin Le Bon, Minnie Driver, Anna Wintour, Bill Nighy, Alison Mosshart, Alexa Chung, Mario Testino and many more.

After all the drama, guests finally got to see a capsule collection of evening wear complete with amazing costume jewellery before the big reveal in Paris next week. And there’s no pics yet!

  6. Elizabeth Olsen: bright + breezy vs pretty pastels

Everyone wants a fashionable piece of Elizabeth Olsen at the moment and it’s not difficult to see why. Apart from being stunning looking, Elizabeth is quite an actress and is expected to make a HUGE name for herself this year – oh and you might have heard of her super stylish sisters.

Elizabeth was the face of ASOS’ magazine this month and stars in a bright editorial with kooky sequinned tops and pom-pom embellished shorts. Interestingly in the interview she also claims she hasn’t borrowed clothes from Mary-Kate and Ashley’s wardrobe since she was 14…is she mad?!

Being a busy girl, Elizabeth also graces Glamour UK’s fashion pages this month, this time decked out in pretty pastels by Chanel, Dior, Carven and Nina Ricci. It’s worth buying this issue if you haven’t as there are so many Spring fashion ideas.

  8. Best dressed: People’s Choice Awards

Another day another awards show. Who cares who won what; let’s just check out the dresses.

It was all about Spring’s mellow yellow shade last night when Elizabeth Olsen wore Emilio Pucci and Elle Fanning looked cute in a Rodarte sunflowers dress.

Miley Cyrus rocked the futuristic fabrics trend in a daring David Koma dress, while Lea Michele opted for a roaring twenties fringed frock by Marchesa.

The other colour contender of the night was a vibrant green, as worn by Chloe Moretz and Emma Stone – in the form of a cute tux. Which is your favourite look?
