Get the look: Dolce & Gabbana’s remarkable raffia
Just like pastels and florals you can rely on raffia to make appearance come spring/summertime – often featured in towering wedges. But this season Dolce & Gabbana’s showing off its supreme workmanship and Italian (specifically Sicilian) style with punchy prints inspired by puppet theatres (yes really!) crazy huge earrings, painted wood and raffia wedges and basketwork dresses.
Of course there were signature Dolce touches – sexy dresses with oversized sleeves and cinched-in waists, stripes, OTT prints and classic fifties-style full skirts, crop tops, tailored shorts, jackets and sunnies. And while you won’t get the incredible attention to detail and artisan workmanship on the high street, you can find plenty of remarkable raffia pieces to add a little Sicilian sunshine to your wardrobe.
