  1. Stars who can Cannes

So it’s that time of year again – the Cannes Film Festival is in town … well, Cannes to be specific. There have been so many red carpet moments, but how about we pick our favourite some more casual-ish looks for a change?

Casual might be over-stating it a little … after all there are some killer heels and dresses that you really wouldn’t want to spill your dinner on … but no frou frou frills or intricate lace trains here. Enjoy x

  2. MFW: the glamour edit

Milan is the most glamorous fashion week – or at least it seems it to me and every time I have visited Milan it has been awash with super polished, glossy ladies with a penchant for pricey handbags, heels while shopping, snakeskin, silks, furs and seriously glamorous Italian designer labels – epitomised for me by Versace and Gucci.

So without further ado, here are the looks that scream MILANO to me (unfortunately some would appear to contain real fur, which some consider luxe and glamorous but we think that fur only looks cute on happy furry animals).

Dolce & Gabbana’s show stopping finale

Etro, Versace, Bottega Veneta and Roberto Cavalli

Gucci, Alberta Ferretti, Max Mara and DSquared2

  3. MFW: Top 10 round-up

Milan Fashion week is always ‘the glamorous one’ and this season saw its fair share of red carpet worthy dresses as well as Prada’s Japanese-inspired collection…which definitely means the oriental style clothing we say on the catwalk in London is definitely going to be BIG this Spring!

Ooh and Jil Sander’s back with minimalist masterpieces.

    Gucci goes glam and colourful!

Versace goes glitzy (who would have thought?!)

Roberto Cavalli sticks to silky sexiness

Another awards, another bunch of celebs in pretty dresses, right? Let’s cut to the chase. Here are our top 5 favourite frocks and leading ladies.

Kylie looks super glam in Dolce & Gabbana

We bet LOADS of celebs wear this dress soon. Louise Redknapp looks electric in Stella McCartney

Victoria Pendleton also rocks Stella – love the fierce belt!

Azealia Banks looks super sophisticated in Missoni and Jimmy Choos

  5. Vogue Paris frock off

Vogue Paris has a trio of models on its September issue front cover and they’re all wearing the same Dolce & Gabbana dress.

It’s a bold move pitching Kate Moss, Lara Stone and Daria Werbowy against each other, all of whom are also wearing strong red lipstick. The big question is, who is your favourite and who do you think will sell the most copies?

  7. StyleCrush: last week belonged to Emma Stone

We should rename the last week Emma Stone Week. She’s been EVERYWHERE with the Amazing Spiderman premieres and on so many fashion magazine covers – and she hasn’t put a fashionable foot wrong. Bravo Emma- so many winning looks in a week.

  8. Handbags to picnic with

Picnic hampers as handbags has to be one of SS12’s tastiest micro-trends. While Dolce & Gabbana’s golden baskets were catwalk favourites and cost a lot (a lifetime’s worth of gourmet sarnies) the trend translates really well for the high street with cute wicker offerings everywhere. We’ll be plumping for a big boxy number for maximum snackability…or a tiny novelty wicker bag in the shape of something quirky for fun summer nights.

  9. Fiiierce mesh shoes

I have been a little obsessed with Gareth Pugh of late; his ultra fierce cage get-ups and that amazing anti-tutu. Anything too cage-like might attract the wrong kind of attention in the office but a mesh shoe can toughen up any business outfit or standard skinny jeans look and there are some incredible designer and high street offerings.

SO useful for summer! M&S Autograph open toe eslasticated band sandals £49.50

Bionda Castana Melody mesh pumps £212 from The Outnet

  10. Dolce Gabbana vs Primark (again!)

The say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Well, let’s hope Dolce & Gabbana are really flattered as Primark has once again imitated (rather closely if you ask us) one of the Italian fashion house’s most recognisable SS12 designs – the aubergine-print cropped top, as recently worn by Pixie Lott.

Primark has been VERY inspired by the catwalk of late and we have spotted a copy of the Dolce & Gabbana chilli pepper dress, Henry Holland-esque supersized leopard print neon tee and Prada’s Cadillac print tops and skirts at the budget retailer. Good news for penny pinching shoppers but it makes us wonder if or when fashion houses will get a little bit miffed.
