  1. PFW: top 3 OTT sets/most entertaining shows

Ah Paris- city of lights and totally over-the-top sets at Fashion Week. Of course PFW is all about the clothes but opulent venues, extravagant runways and now zip wires (?!) are trending too.

I was secretly hoping for a fashion moment similar to Louis Vuitton’s escalator twins of SS13 and I was not disappointed. Chanel set its show at the Grand Palais with a humongous globe as the show’s centre piece…and the mini globe bags were tres chic.

But hold the glamour because Moncler Gamme Rouge raised the biggest smile with its super playful snowy show crammed with giant polar bears, beautiful huskies, men attached to wires, fake snow and fabulous mittens. I just wish the fur was fake *sigh* except for the husky’s…obvs. You have to watch this show right now!

  2. Christian Dior + celebs: J’adore!

Another coffee table book to lust after and this time it’s from the house of Dior celebrating all the famous people who have worn their lush dresses- think Dior girls du jour Natalie Portman, Charlize Theron and more starlets from days past like Elizabeth Taylor.

It’s out to coincide with the Stars in Dior exhibition in Paris (bonjour Eurostar!) and costs £45 but you do get lots of photos from Alexi Lubomirski, advert pics and a bunch of pretty illustrations.

  3. PFW: the return of the LBD

Thank you Paris our prayers have been answered. So many girls chase trends (us included) and spend hours putting together the perfect ‘going out’ ensemble, when the classic little black dress makes us feel great each time. After a long absence from the catwalk, we spied some beautiful examples of perfect LBDs. Want!

    Classy Dior

Chanel goes a little spacey - I'd lose the trousers and stick to high court shoes but Kagerfeld must know best!

    Effortlessly sexy at Isabel Marant

    Sheer perfection at Nina Ricci

I love the classic shape of this Roland Mouret number

    A fluted affair at Valentino

I love this Vanessa Bruno dress - perfection

  4. PFW: Super femme

From flouncy florals at Nina Ricci and Cacherel, to pale pastels at Roland Mouret, Dior and Alexander McQueen, there were some cute feminine pieces at Paris Fashion Week – much less about the punchy digital floral prints of London and more focused on some Parisian romance, with references to yester-years from almost puritanical cuts to 1940s and 1950s lady-like silhouettes.

    Soft pleats at Dior

Futuristic but frothy at Alexander McQueen

Love the colour and cut of this Roland Mouret ensemble

    Romantic florals at Cacherel

    VERY demure at Valentino

Such a pretty, simple dress! Nina Ricci

  5. Elizabeth Olsen: bright + breezy vs pretty pastels

Everyone wants a fashionable piece of Elizabeth Olsen at the moment and it’s not difficult to see why. Apart from being stunning looking, Elizabeth is quite an actress and is expected to make a HUGE name for herself this year – oh and you might have heard of her super stylish sisters.

Elizabeth was the face of ASOS’ magazine this month and stars in a bright editorial with kooky sequinned tops and pom-pom embellished shorts. Interestingly in the interview she also claims she hasn’t borrowed clothes from Mary-Kate and Ashley’s wardrobe since she was 14…is she mad?!

Being a busy girl, Elizabeth also graces Glamour UK’s fashion pages this month, this time decked out in pretty pastels by Chanel, Dior, Carven and Nina Ricci. It’s worth buying this issue if you haven’t as there are so many Spring fashion ideas.

  6. 1950s dresses + yellow + an airplane: must be couture!

We could spend hours looking at all the couture collections- after all couture is all about attention to detail and superb craftsmanship. But for those a little pushed-for time, here is a mini round-up of the highlights so far.

Chanel typically went OTT on the set front with Karl Lagerfeld showing off a beautifully-blue toned beaded collection in an airplane. It kind of reminded us a tiny bit of the SS12 underwater collection with some nods to Chanel classics past.

Meanwhile, one of the colours set to define SS12 dominated the Armani Prive and Versace shows. We’re calling it sherbet lemon. We love the mixture of 1950s shapes (such as structured tops and pencil skirts) and futuristic fabrics and space-age detailing- also created in a retro-style kind of way…think the 1950s Festival of Britain Skylon.

Meanwhile, Christian Dior is still playing the classic card (much like its SS12 show) but we like it and it’s super glamorous. Regarde!

No need for emergency exits - fly Chanel!

    My fav Chanel dress

    Amazing and classic Dior. J'adore.

1950s London + the futuristic Skylon tower (wish it was still there!)

Reminds me slightly of Armani Prive

Spacey and super strong (no frills here!) at Versace Couture

  7. Anselm Reyle + Dior = arty heaven

Berlin-based artist Anselm Reyle has joined Dior to jazz up some of the iconic label’s quilted classics. Metallic leather, neon stitching, patent detailing and colourful metal, this collection has it all. Available as limited editions until March, do you love this collection as much as us?

    Mash-up!

  8. White vs Black Swan + Mila Kunis for Dior

As we all know, Mila Kunis starred alongside Natalie Portman in Black Swan and now they are both Dior girls. Mila is the face of some seriously covetable bags, while we have loved Natalie’s Miss Dior Cherie advert for ages.

The question is do you like Natalie’s easy breezy white swan Dior campaign or Mila’s brooding Black Swan campaign?

    Love the blurred effect
