Rihanna vs Nicola Roberts in Vivienne Westwood

Vivienne Westwood’s Lily dress is back in a new way (we think – if not, it’s pretty similar)…and is pink! Rihanna took a break from her usual raunchy get-up to wear this eye-catching corset-style cocktail dress, which could only have been designed by the icon that is Vivienne.

The Lily dress was massive circa 2010 thanks to SATC and Carrie Bradshaw’s wedding dress, as well as heaps of celebs going crazy for a pencil skirt version. But I love the prom-style version of Lily as worn by Nicola Roberts and Rihanna, which is more flirty and fun – especially in hot pink. Would rock a Lily?

P.S. we think Rihanna’s performance outfit she wore for the Time party is by Jason Wu…a peplum, statement trousers and matchy-matchiness – could RiRi tick any more trend boxes?!

Dries van Noten debuted some incredible patterned and cropped trousers on the catwalk and the trend is set to become one of SS12’s biggest hits with fashion bloggers and editors rocking statement trous at fashion week(s). The good news is that there is a pair to suit every budget and body shape with neat tailored shapes, slouchy pyjama bottoms and skinny cigarette styles. The only rules? Heels only. Pair with a simple tshirt or streamlined shirt unless you’re seriously avant garde.
