  1. LFW: Metallic trend lives on with Christopher Kane and Antonio Berardi

We love this season’s metallic trend- for parties and day wear, so were chuffed when Christopher Kane and Antonio Berardi showed off some very different metallic beauties on the catwalk at London fashion Week.

A master of clever cuts, Kane showed off leather shift dresses with unusual slashes with a wet-look finish, covered with subtle silver and gold details. Minty leather minis, pale nylon and brocade 60s-inspired dresses, embellished shorts and glittery flowers looked incredible.

We especially loved the silk origami skirts with 60s style flowers but aren’t 100% sure about Kane’s take on the flip flop!

    The 'new' leather metallic dress

Amazing blue floral origami-style dresses. Love!

I just love this embellished tee and matching clutch. Super cute.

The Kane flip flop - hit or miss?

    Kanye West enjoying the show

Anna Wintour drinking it all in - in an edgy ensemble

Meanwhile at Antonio Beradi’s show, there was a baroque feeling, which we’re sure we’ll be seeing lots of on the red carpet. Florals and metallics featured heavily, in a very different way to Mr Kane. We loved the use of metal sequins vs the flowing flowery fabrics.

Floaty floaty! We love the sparkly green shoes too

Shimmery silver structured shoulders with some serious bead work

Mint green again but with an edgy rubbery corset-like detail

More rubber - a nod to the fetish trend of this season?

    And a handy video…

  2. Frances Bean Cobain + Banana Republic’s Mad Men

Happy 19th Birthday Frances Bean Cobain!

Courtney Love and the late great Kurt Cobain’s daughter celebrated her birthday in style with this stunning photo shoot – grunge’s poster girl goes glam!

And on pretty much the same day as Banana Republic launches its eagerly anticipated retro-inspired MadMen collection – we could out-lust Don Draper in a competition if there’s vintage-look clothes involved!

    Just an amazing image!

    And another one!

Thanks Daily Mail for the pics!

And now…time to rob little bobby’s piggy bank and go shopping!

Fancy yourself as a Betty Francis or Joan Holloway? MadMen’s costume designer, Janie Bryant, who arguably has one of the best jobs in the world, has created Banana Republic’s collection inspired by the characters’ signature styles, but somehow the collection looks modern enough to wear into an ad agency today without looking like you’re off to a costume party.

We love the array of early 1960s dresses as well as the beautiful lace tops, tailored trousers and on-trend pussy bow blouses – perfect for those who want a little MadMen glamour without going the whole hog! And did we mention the delicious leopard print bags and cheap and chic pearls? *SWOON!* Check out the website pronto!

Full Circle Skirt £65, Tie Neck Top £55 left untied for a less Joan polished finish

Prim and proper in Navy Houndstooth Dress £110 and Pearl Brooch necklace £25

Playful for puddles- Leopard print mac £140 vamped up with a waist-cinching belt

Our fav dress- maybe in Blue Begonia Print £99.50

Tie Neck Blouse £55, Animal Print Cardi £59.50 and cute tailored trousers not listed on the website...yet!

We love how this collection can be the epitome of polished lady-like glamour (Someone call the Palace – Kate Middleton’s sure to love this!) or how it can be vamped up and grunged down by adding kooky tights, tough-girl boots and wayfarer-style shades – one of Rachel Bilson’s style staples.

We’re def popping into Banana Republic this Bank Holiday Weekend!

  3. Kristen Stewart vamps it up for W

We’re used to seeing K-Stew as brooding Bella in The Twilight Saga so couldn’t help but re-post these incredible shots from September’s W Magazine where she’s vamping it up 60’s style.

We’ll be blogging up a storm on sexy 60s-style fashion items later but to get the make-up look, we LOVE this vlog from make-up artist and YouTube starlet Tanya Burr (pixi2woo) inspired by 60s icon Brigitte Bardot - more than a little similar to Kristen’s look we think you’ll agree.
