  1. Snap Fashion is in Grazia + The Sunday Times!

We’ve had an incredible year with the launch of www.snapfashion.co.uk and our app as well as winning several awards and appearing in Vogue, Cosmopolitan, The Guardian and more.

In all our wildest dreams we didn’t imagine that we would be going to swanky parties, fashion shows, visiting New York and would receive so many kind words from our peers, journalists and people we really admire.

And now, just before the close of an astounding 2012, we have appeared in The Sunday Times’ Style magazine and Grazia – a perfect Christmas gift!

Belinda Parmar, author of Little Miss Geek who also writes for Grazia, picked us as one of her top fashion apps to download for 2013. We’re in seriously good company (and we’ve downloaded a couple of the other apps featured) and super chuffed to be chosen *swoon* as one of the ‘10 hot stories’ too!

Read all about it in Grazia!

We also made the cut for The Sunday Times’ ‘What’s up for 2013’ feature in Style magazine and never  dared to imagine that we might be mentioned in the same article as David Bowie, Google, South Park and ‘wantologists’ – you have to read the whole article! Our favourite quote from the piece is: “Snap Fashion will change the way we shop.”  We certainly hope so…give it a go! x

We’re on the first page *squeal!!!*

  2. Chanel: Victoria Beckham, Scotland + that exhibition

While Chanel is known for its evolving classics and constant innovation, the fashion house has been super busy of late and has chalked up a trio of obsessions for us in the past week alone!

    1)      Those photos of Victoria Beckham at Chanel’s spiritual home, 31 Rue Cambon. Just how incredible does she look? VB joins Karl Lagerfeld for a super glam photo shoot for Elle France. Interestingly VB only wears Chanel jewellery, teamed with a Lanvin sweater, Eres undies and Giuseppe Zanotti Design skyscraper heels. Pas de pearls! She also wears a white Fendi shirt, Sergio Rossi stilettos and a skirt from her own collection to pose alone.

    2)      From Paris to Scotland, a secret location near Edinburgh will host Chanel’s always-fabulous Métiers d’Art show this December – let’s hope Karl et al wrap up warm! It’s amazing to think that the first Métiers d’Arts catwalk show only took place 9 years ago but since then it’s a key part of the annual fashion calendar and enables Chanel to show off the extravagant work of its 10 highly skilled artisan manufacturers. One might suppose that the show will have a Scottish theme (Karl does love a kilt) and Chanel has even safeguarded 200 jobs at Barrie Knitwear, which it has just acquired.

    3)      And a final note to say that if you live anywhere near Chelsea in London you HAVE to go to the Little Black Jacket exhibition. We ventured to the Saatchi Gallery on Sunday morning and had a wonderful time browsing the huge selection of stylish portraits and lusting after the world’s most versatile jacket. P.S. the gift shop is totally amazing for Christmas presents!

  3. Kristen Stewart: the beat goes on

It’s easy to forget how young Kristen Stewart is. She seems to have been around forever with Twilight, her long-term relationship, mature way of handling the press, defined sense of style and now the whole ‘affair’ thing. And woah she looks sophisticated in this Vogue editorial (we do like it!).

Kristen has a knack for vamping it up in the red carpet, but I can’t wait to see her in ‘On the Road’ this Autumn where she will have to look much younger and more natural! Plus it’s one of my favourite ever books. Has there ever been a cooler movement than the Beats?

  4. Vogue Paris frock off

Vogue Paris has a trio of models on its September issue front cover and they’re all wearing the same Dolce & Gabbana dress.

It’s a bold move pitching Kate Moss, Lara Stone and Daria Werbowy against each other, all of whom are also wearing strong red lipstick. The big question is, who is your favourite and who do you think will sell the most copies?

  5. Style Crush: Margaret Qualley

Margaret Qualley has A-star pedigree (her mum is the eternally youthful Andie MacDowell) but now the 17 year-old is modelling for Chanel and Valentino and has an enviable sense of style.

While she claims that she has a normal childhood, Margaret told Teen Vogue: “I’m always thrilled when she’s [Andie is] cleaning out her closet. Last time, I got a pair of boots that she bought in Paris 20 years ago. I have completely worn them out. She also recently had a pair of earrings with pretty stones in them that were too heavy, so she turned them into necklaces for me and my sister, which I really love.”

She told the magazine that she’s pretty casual day-to-day, loves Free People and vintage pieces. But of course her celebrity earns her serious fashion perks! She said: “This season, I went to Paris with my sister to see the Dior show, and in our downtime, we wandered around a flea market near the Eiffel Tower. It’s cool to see cities as more than just a tourist would.”

  6. Vogue: going for gold

As the closing ceremony for the London 2012 Games approaches we’re filled with excitement, tinged with a little sadness as this Summer of sport has been incredible. (We’re still stoked about the Paralympics btw!)

As well as Victoria (Spice Girl again) Beckham’s probably performance one of the rumoured features of the closing extravaganza is a supermodel walk-off and we can’t wait. Naomi Campbell hosted a dinner party that has whetted our appetites further – just look at the outfits – while Vogue has produced this glittering golden display of British fashion talent. Go Team GB!
