I’ll have the perfect nude pumps please

We’re told that when in doubt with shoes, you should wear nude. It’s a fairly obvious choice – not only do nude pumps go well with everything, but they also have that magic effect of making your legs look longer, which every female under the sun wants and wishes to achieve.

Last year Christian Louboutin took on the task of re-evaluating the term ‘nude’ to mean more than just a Caucasian person’s skin colour, opening up the tactful trend of wearing leg-lengthening shoes to all ethnicities. He designed a relatively broad range of shoes in different hues, from “fair blush” to “rich chestnut”, for his 5 Shades of Nude collection, and even launched an app to help you find the perfect pair by taking a photo of your foot and playing around with the different shades of shoe. (Debatable as to how helpful it actually was, but of course we approve of the innovation behind a creative app idea). Although we appreciate the dedication to helping women discover their dream Louboutin, we beg to differ that skin tone can be summarised in only five shades and that non-Louboutin ladies should be excluded from finding a well-suited pair of nude pumps.

Nude may be the easy and obvious choice to complete an outfit, but finding the perfect pair isn’t necessarily as simple as going and buying the first flesh coloured shoe you come across. Let’s be honest, it doesn’t look so chic (or prove very helpful for a little leg extension) if your nude pumps don’t actually match your skin shade…

This is where we offer a simple solution to your problem of finding the right pair for you, while also permitting you to spend a little less than you would on some luxurious Louboutins (one day, maybe). Sounds too good to be true I know, but it’s not. Our Snap ColourPop app can find you all the nude shoes that suit your exact skin tone from over 150 different retailers. All you have to do is download the free app, take a quick pic of your skin (any bit that’s peeking out from all those wintery, cold-weather clothes), and see all your shoe results in seconds. We bet you’ll be able to discover something suited to your skin tone in a tiny fraction of the time it would take to go around and try on hundreds of pairs of pumps. So give it a go, and let us know when you find the nude shoe for you.
