Stripy and awesome: Christian Lacroix for Petit Bateau

A Breton tee is a wardrobe staple, but one with a velvet bow created by one of the world’s best-loved designers is so much more.

Purveyor of THE best Breton tees, Petit Bateau, has teamed up the Paris National Opera for a capsule collection designed by Christian Lacroix.

The collection features items for adults and children, including awesome Breton t-shirts with velvet bows and a floor length stripy dress, also with a bow-detailed sash, inspired by the famed Parisian opera house.

Lacroix told British Vogue that he was drawn to the project because it reminded him of his childhood wardrobe.

It is not long since Petit Bateau joined forces with Carven to produce affordable versions of some of the renowned French fashion house’s classics. Let’s hope these collaborations continue – who will be next? Moisieur Lagerfeld? Chloe? Chanel?
