V&A exhibition: ball gowns: British Glamour since 1950
Major fashion exhibition alert! The V&A has reopened its Fashion Galleries and to celebrate there is a massive exhibition on post 1950s ball gowns to celebrate. Displayed over two floors, there are red carpet numbers, catwalk favourites and royal balls.
The show covers 60 years of British fashion and there are pieces from Jonathan Saunders, Alexander McQueen, Giles Deacon, Erdem and more. Oh and a number of frocks from the royals and celebs, including: Bianca Jagger and Liz Hurley as well as a one-off created especially for the show by Gareth Pugh. I love the idea of seeing the dresses and knowing who wore them so some reason. We can’t wait to go!
If you’re a fan of red carpet dresses, you need to get your gloved hands on the £20 hardback book to accompany the exhibition. Bargain!
