Style Crush : Great Gatsby style
The Great Gatsby is among my favourite books (although doesn’t quite make my desert island selection) but I am SO excited about the forthcoming film.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, Leonardo diCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan have scored the starring roles in The Great Gatsby and Baz Luhrmann is directing.
Better news still is that Tiffany & Co is creating bespoke jewels for the film based on its archives, while Ashley Olsen is lending some of her vintage treasures, according to The Telegraph.
We’ll have to wait a while to see the whole film as it will be out just before next Christmas, but while the plot will have to be brilliant, we’ll be glued to the fashion detailing too, which promises to be spectacular.
But if that’s too long to hold on for some 1920s glamour, Art Deco style, drop-waisted dresses are already in the shops and they’ll be plenty more this Spring. Gucci + John Pierre Braganza debuted some incredible SS12 collections, while Amanda Seyfried was snapped in an Alberta Ferretti drop-waist beaded dress.
Here are a couple of our 5 favourite high street 1920s favourites…

Ooooh, I’m so excited for the film too! Can’t wait to see that sublime 1920s fashion – complete with Tiffany jewels – in all of it’s silver screen glory. As for your top picks from 20s & Art Deco inspired gowns on the high street – can I have both Biba dresses please?!
Wonderful post – enjoyed every word! Stay stylish, xoxo
